The Field Lines screensaver by Terry Welsh is a simulation of charged particles and the electric field lines that run between them. It is highly configurable: you can set the number of ions, the step length along the lines and the maximum number of steps, as well as the line width, speed and a frame rate limit. A "defaults" button is available to undo your changes.
