I tried copying the file for 3-D Flowerbox, but when I got to the windows folder and right click on the empty white space, nothing happens and it quit

I use an Acer with Windows 10, does this have to do with it?

  • Hello Joseph, it looks like your Context Menu, i.e. the menu that appears when you use the right mouse button in the File Explorer, has been corrupted somehow. This is usually caused by third-party software that inserts a new option into the Context Menu. There are many reports where anti-virus programs such as AVG, Malwarebytes and Norton Security turn out to be the culprit, but it can vary widely.

The easiest way to solve the problem is by using a free utility like ShellExView (direct download) or CCleaner. These programs can help you disable Context Menu items.

In ShellExView, look for items of the type "Context Menu", then disable those one by one using the red stop light icon at the top of the window until you find that the Context Menu in the File Explorer works again. When it works, the last item you disabled will be the culprit and you can probably just leave that disabled.

If you already have CCleaner, or choose to use it instead, you can do the same by clicking "Tools", followed by "Startup" and then the "Context Menu" tab.

Once your Context Menu is restored, you should be able to copy the screensaver file to the Windows folder without a problem. Note that instead of right-clicking and selecting "Paste", as described in the tutorial on How to install a screensaver from a ZIP file, when you have opened the Windows folder you can also press Control+V to copy the screensaver file there. Still, it's good to get the Context Menu fixed.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you need further guidance.
