Screensaver covers desktop

I want the screen saver to be under the desktop as have been the case with all my other screensavers. Why is this one on top of the desktop?

  • What you're looking for is called wallpaper or a desktop background. Unfortunately the term "screensaver" has somehow come to be popularly used to refer to a background image. See this help page for more on the difference:

  • Thank you so much. But I recently had one, that I am wanting to replace with one of yours. Why did that one go behind my desktop and this one didn't?

  • Can the wallpaper, desktop background be animated?

  • There are a few commercially available screensavers that also include an animated wallpaper. Some examples include Sim Aquarium 3D and Santa's Castle 3D.

In that case, the animated wallpaper works separately from the screensaver but they're bundled in one install. Normally in Windows a desktop background cannot be animated but these products install special software to make it work.

    Which one did you have?
