can't uninstall the old fliqlo

Hi, I followed all the steps listed to uninstall the old file. I tried through the apps, and manually through the system files but when I right click to delete... a window pops up saying denied - I need permission to perform this action. I require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this file. I've tried everything to change the permission but I've had no luck. Any help would be appreciated!

  • Hi Eunice,

I assume you do have Administrator's privileges on this computer? If so, try right-clicking the Fliqlo screensaver file where you find it (in the Windows folder or the system32 and/or SysWOW64 sub-folders), then choose "Properties".

Click the "Security" tab, then the "Advanced" button at the bottom. At the top of the window that pops up, you'll find the file name and the assigned owner. The owner will probably be set to TrustedInstalled. Click "Change", then enter your Windows user name in the text field and click "Get names". The user name you entered will automatically change, e.g. from "Rob" to "MY-PC/Rob". Click "OK".

Click "OK" in the other windows to close them. Then try to delete the file again.

    Hope that works!

  • Hi,
Thanks for your help and all the info~ I was able to delete the file, however it's still showing under my apps and I can't uninstall that lol. Clicking uninstall does nothing...so the old version is still showing under my screen savers. Don't know if this is possible to fix lol so no worries. I appreciate all your help!

    Thanks.

  • If it still shows up in the Screen Saver Settings panel, then maybe the Fliqlo screensaver file is also lingering in one of the other folders. It could be in:

    C:\Windows
    C:\Windows\system32
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64

Delete it from there as well, if it exists, and it should disappear from the list of screensavers, and you should be able to install and run the new version.
