How to turn down the volume on video screensaver?
There are instructions that say press the up or down arrow keys to control the volume, or use the scroll wheel.
Pressing either up or down ends the screensaver, as does using the scroll wheel. I can preview the screensaver and adjust the volume in the volume mixer, however, it resets to super-loud each time.
Been using this for years and months ago something happened and it started getting really loud, but I don't know what happened.
Has anybody been able to adjust the volume on the video screensaver? It's really an awesome thing and I miss having it, but max volume is too loud.

How strange that it's suddenly no longer responding to the arrow keys.
If you're comfortable using the Registry Editor, browse to the following path:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VideoScreensaver
Here you'll find an entry named "Volume". What is the value of that currently?
A value of 0 is silent, a value of 1 is the loudest.
You can double-click the Volume entry to manually change this setting. You can also opt to use 0,2 or 0,4 or 0,6 or 0,8 (possibly all values between 0 and 1).
The next time the screensaver runs, it should use that value for the volume.
Alternatively, see if Easy Video Screensaver is a good alternative.
