  • Hello Evie,

Thanks for posting to the message board.

"On resume, display logon screen" means that when the screensaver is running and you want to get back to using the computer, Windows will ask you to log back in to your user account, i.e. you'll have to enter your password. That's a security feature that can prevent others from accessing your computer when you're away from it for a certain period of time (the wait time you set).

If you don't enable that feature, the screensaver will simply cleanly exit and bring you back immediately to Windows and the things you were working on before.

There's no optimal setting for the wait time. It depends on how you use your computer. If you don't want the screensaver to get in the way, I would suggest a wait time of at least 15 minutes. 15 minutes of inactivity usually means you're away from the computer, whereas 5 minutes of inactivity could also pass while you're reading a long text from the screen. If you find that the screensaver comes on too often, or not often enough, you can always adjust the wait time accordingly.

Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions.
