Dead FLASH

I have asked screensaver planet this question but I might as well ask the public. Since FLASH is now dead what app do you recommend as a replacement, also how do I make the change?

• Hello Larry,

  Screensavers that rely on Adobe Flash technology will only work if the Flash plug-in is installed and functional. I'm afraid there is no drop-in replacement for that plug-in.

  However, new versions of some Flash-based screensavers are slowly appearing, and these do not require Flash to be installed on the user's computer. Is there a particular screensaver that you'd like to get working again on your computer?

• None especially, I'm just trying to be prepared for the future. Any idea of where I could learn more about removing an app and replacing it?

  Also, I truly depreciate your input and guidance. I'm kind of old (66) but I'm still trying to learn what I can.

• Instructions on removing a screensaver are available in our Help pages: How to remove (uninstall) a screensaver. You can remove other apps using the same process.

  We're working on labeling screensavers that rely on Flash as such in our archive, in the meantime I'm afraid it's a bit of a trial-and-error process.
