Can you change the browser to use chrome instead of internet explorer
It appears that it wants to default to IE instead of the default web browser. Is there a setting that can change this?

Unfortunately, no. The screensaver, which has not been updated since 2014, seems to be fixed on Internet Explorer, regardless of what your default browser is.
It shows as Internet Explorer 11.0 on my PC, which should support most modern websites, but of course it won't have all the features that Chrome or Edge will have.
